The Orthotics and Prosthetics Centralized Application Service (OPRESCAS) is a service of the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE). OPRESCAS provides a simplified online process of applying to NCOPE accredited residency programs. Please note that not all residency programs are participating in the OPRESCAS system. For now, participation in voluntary but may be required in 2016. A listing of all accredited orthotist/Prosthetist programs can be accessed here.
How It Works
Residents/Students – Applicants complete one application and submit it with corresponding materials to the centralized service, provided by Liaison International. OPRESCAS verifies the application components for accuracy, stores them in an organized manner, and sends the materials to the residency programs the applicant designates. Students and residents must pay $25.00 per application. The first three applications are covered by NCOPE to help get a resident/student started.
The 2015-16 OPRESCAS application is now available on the NCOPE website:
Residency Programs – Each program has the ability to create their own page or "microsite" making it marketable to students and residents. The site also controls what is required to apply, i.e. resumes, cover letters and references. The director of the program or a designated admin person can manage the applications and documentation submitted to their program. They can also communicate with their applicants and set deadlines or reminders for open positions, etc. WebAdmit training is required for every residency program that will use the OPRESCAS.
