Meet Shaneis Malouff
Shaneis is a recent graduate of Loma Linda University’s MSPO Program and current orthotics resident with Hanger Clinic in Colorado Springs. In early 2017, she was appointed to serve on the USA Team Paratriathlon committee, where she hopes to continue to increase participation in paratriathlon within the adaptive sports community.
Shaneis' favorite aspect of her O&P career and her involvement in coaching adaptive athletes is being a part of each unique pursuit of mobility, at all levels and aspirations. Her interest comes naturally as she has raced for the US triathlon team for the past several years. Through her team participation, she regularly witnessed US paratriathletes defy the odds of their disabilities and uplift the international triathlon community. Inspired by others commitments, she earned a USAT coaching certification with a specialization in adaptive training. Coaching helped her to realize her passion for the biomechanics, rehabilitation and the clinical aspect of adaptive sports.
Orthotics and prosthetics seemed like the perfect challenge for her future career, meshing together human adaptability and potential. Shaneis has been very grateful to the management of the Hanger Clinic Colorado Springs for supporting her continued involvement in adaptive coaching throughout her residency, including their support of her efforts in organizing the Hanger Clinic annual mobility clinic last May.
